Tsaknis 50th is observed on family vacation



BOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Tsaknis of Boardman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a family vacation in August to Hilton Head Island, S.C.
The former Koula Amorgeanos, who is also known as "Kay," and Mr. Tsaknis were married Aug. 31, 1952, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren.
The honorees' children and spouses were hosts for the trip. They are Atty. Alexander and Cynthia Savakis of Warren, Bryan and Kathleen Chaka of Toledo, and Nicholas Tsaknis of Boardman. The family circle also includes five grandchildren.
Mrs. Tsaknis was plant secretary at Delphi Packard Electric Systems Co. in Warren and Austintown before retiring in 1990. She is a member of the Philoptochos Society and bridge and dinner clubs.
Retiring in 1981, Mr. Tsaknis was a scheduler and expediter at Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. in Campbell. He is a member of the Orthodox Men's and Applewood golf leagues. Mr. Tsaknis served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
They are members of St. John Greek Orthodox Church.
