The Pollanders guests of honor during reception

CAMPBELL -- Mr. and Mrs. John Pollander, 581 Coitsville Road, were guests of honor during a reception Sept. 21 at the Holiday Inn South, Boardman, for the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple also attended Mass today at St. Elizabeth Church, Campbell, to mark the observance.
Hosts for the reception were the honorees' children and spouses, Barbara and Tim DeSalvo of Cincinnati, Lisa and Ramon Garrett of Sudbury, Mass., and Thomas and Candy Pollander of Arnold, Md.
The former Marta Copp and Mr. Pollander were married Sept. 24, 1952, at St. Elizabeth Church.
Mr. Pollander is retired from Commercial Intertech in Youngstown, where he was a general foreman. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he is a past commander of American Legion Post 560 and has served on the Campbell Zoning Board for the last five years.
Mrs. Pollander retired from Waldon Management in Austintown, where she was a leasing agent for 20 years. She also was a real estate agent for 10 years.
The family circle includes three grandchildren.
