YOUNGSTOWN -- The wedding of Meredyth Patrice Manning and John Paul Ray took place at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at St. Columba Cathedral. Officiants were the bride's uncle, the Rev. Patrick Manning, and the groom's brother, the Rev. David Ray Jr., who also served as a groomsman. The couple received a papal blessing.
Parents of the bride are Linda and Michael Manning of Rosewood Drive, Hubbard. Mr. Ray is a son of David and Kathy Ray of Toronto and the late Naomi Ray.
After a reception at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church hall, the couple honeymooned on a Caribbean cruise. They live in Youngstown.
The bride wore a white satin gown fashioned with an off-the-shoulder neckline accented with pearls and irridescents The full skirt fell to a cathedral gown.
Her sister, Jessica Manning, was maid of honor wearing a platinum gown. Plum gowns were worn by the bridesmaids, Mollie and Bridget Keevey, Meaghan Manning and Katie Thompson, all cousins of the bride, and Dana Rudy. Gowned in white were the flower girls, Heather Inglis and the bride's cousin, Colleen Manning.
The groom's father was best man, and groomsmen were William Nichols, the groom's brother; and Frank Palocyi, Harry Fishback and Martin Larkins. Joshua Ray, the groom's nephew, was ring bearer.
Mrs. Ray graduated from the Wilma Boyd School in Pittsburgh. She is a patient-care assistant at Windsor House in Youngstown.
A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Mr. Ray is a baker at Churchill Commons Giant Eagle in Liberty.
