Kings honored for anniversary at surprise party



YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Richard King, 275 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, were the guests of honor Sept. 1 at a surprise party in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The festivity took place at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, James and Nancy King of Boardman, who were hosts along with the couple's other children and their spouses, Robert and Sabrina King of Mesquite, Texas; David and Teresa King of Liberty; Richard and Theresa King of Youngstown; Harry and Molly King of Liberty; Dean and Gloria King of Youngstown; John and Diana King of Salem; Tom King of Youngstown; Kathy King of Cuyahoga Falls; and Tim King of Youngstown. Also serving as hosts were the couple's 16 grandchildren. Two great-grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. King and the former Mary Katherine James were married Sept. 1, 1952, at Coitsville Presbyterian Church, where they are members. He was a self-employed painter in Youngstown prior to retiring, and she is retired from National City Bank, where she was a customer-service representative.
