The city's board of control -- the mayor of Youngstown, finance director and law director -- approved these contracts and other spending items Thursday:
Advancing operators of the B & amp;O Station $13,000 to relocate Ohio Edison equipment. The money will be added to the $50,000 purchase price of the B & amp;O Station off Mahoning Avenue when the operators buy the building from the city.
A $10,000 facade grant to Kars R Us on Meridian Road. The total project cost is $34,328.
A contract up to $3,000 with Leann Turner of Warren to write a profile of the city to be used in the city's comprehensive plan and other advertising.
A $1,920 contract with University Electric to add six floor outlets to council chambers.
A $15,000 contract with Youngstown Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program to provide violence, alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention programs.
Leases for MD1 Real Estate and I-Built It Corp. for office space in the city-owned Wick building downtown.
Waived building fees for renovations at New Bethel Baptist Church on Hillman Street.
Severance of $1,628 for Jennifer Farkas, a 911 technician who resigned Aug. 9.
Severance of $579 for Sean Davis, a boiler operator at the sewer plant, who died Sept. 4.
