PREP VOLLEYBALL Boardman stops Warren in 2 sets



The Spartans remained unbeaten in SVC play, 15-0, 15-3.
WARREN -- Jen Hlebovy scored 11 points and Jaclyn Corroto registered three aces to lead Boardman High past Warren Harding 15-0, 15-3, in a Steel Valley Conference volleyball match Thursday.
Lauren Craig added six kills for the Spartans (8-1, 3-0 SVC).
Jaceena Davis had two points and Sharina Freeman two kills for Warren (2-9, 0-2).
Ursuline 16-10-16,Mooney 14-15-15
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ursuline, with its third straight victory, moved into second place in the SVC standings with a 2-1 record and the Irish are 4-5 overall.
Jess LaRosa paced the Irish with 20 points, while Jenna Kiraly had 30 assists. April Ruse and Holly Lesko had 23 and 20 digs respectively.
Kara Jackson led the Cardinals (3-7, 1-3) with 20 points and Wendy Jackson had 21 assists.
Rayen 13-15-15, Wilson 15-5-13
YOUNGSTOWN -- Sophomore Brittany Hines and senior Erica Wilson had four points each in the first game for the Tigers (5-6, 4-2 City Series) while Joi Smith scored five points in the second game and in the third game Hines collected 10 assists.
Angela Armstrong had 37 assists and 13 points for Wilson, while Megan Simstad tacked on six kills and Lindsay Simstad had five kills and seven points.
Niles 15-9-15, Struthers 9-15-5
NILES -- Amelia Eradley finished with six blocks, Kelly Ciminero had 10 points and Shannon Floyd picked up 15 points for the Red Dragons (1-8, 1-4 Metro Athletic Conference).
Jacquie Trevis paced the Wildcats (6-6, 0-5) with nine kills while Nicole Robenold had five digs.
Canfield 15-15, Howland 9-10
CANFIELD -- Stephanie Jarvis had 11 kills and four blocks for the Cardinals (6-6, 3-2 MAC). Megan Humeniuk had eight points, with four aces and five digs. Jill Vertanen had nine kills and four blocks.
Jaime Kelly led the Tigers (5-6, 1-3) with five points, four kills and seven blocks. Brittany Kelly had five points, four kills, five assists and three aces. Justine Wisniewski had four digs.
Champion 15-15, Liberty 5-2
WARREN -- Jennifer Seifert recorded nine points and three kills while Velda Morrison added seven points and two digs for the Golden Flashes (6-4).
For Liberty, Chenell Mills had three points, an ace and two blocks while Sunny Smallwood had two digs.
Hubbard 15-15, LaBrae 0-2
HUBBARD -- Meghan Oltman had a career-best seven kills for the Eagles (11-0, 8-0 Trumbull Athletic Conference). Katy Jo Mroski had 11 kills, with two aces and two blocks. Jessica Williams scored 11 points and Nichole Pringle had eight points and 13 assists.
Lakeview 16-15, Girard 14-8
GIRARD -- Heidi Kracker scored 13 points, with two blocks and three aces for the Bulldogs (7-3, 6-1 TAC). Megan Taylor had eight kills.
Tealle Hunkus led the Indians (11-2, 6-2) with 22 kills, two aces, eight digs and five points. Brittany Kay had five points and five digs.
Brookfield 15-15, Newton Falls 9-5
NEWTON FALLS -- For Brookfield (5-5, 5-3 TAC), Katie Gething had 11 points and 12 digs, Gina Deramo 10 points and five assists and Jessica Zebroski five kills.
For Newton Falls (3-7, 2-5), Kathy Hardman had three points, Ashley Shaver and Megan McElravy four blocks and two kills each, and Sarah Prokop 10 digs.
Springfield 15-15,Western Reserve 8-8
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Carrie Davis collected five points, 10 kills and three blocks while Lindsay Johnson added seven points, six kills and a pair of blocks for the Tigers (10-3, 7-0 Inter-County League).
Clarisse Evans also had four kills for Springfield.
For the Blue Devils (6-5, 5-2), Katie Havmn had five points while Andrea Martin tacked on three points and three kills.
Jackson-Milton 10-15-15,South Range 15-13-12
NORTH LIMA -- For Jackson-Milton (5-4, 4-3), Shauna Durig had 13 points, seven kills and two blocks, while Ashley Loutzenheiser had nine points, seven digs and 10 kills and Erika Stamm four points and 28 assists.
For South Range (4-6, 3-4), Andraea Hazel had 13 points, five aces and 17 digs, while Natalie Biastro had 10 points, two aces, 22 digs and five kills and Kelly Skrinyer five points, 21 assists and three digs.
Louisville 15-16,West Branch 12-14
LOUISVILLE -- Amber Metzgar scored 10 points, with two saves, three kills, five blocks, 11 assists and 20 passes to pace the Warriors (11-2, 7-1 Northeastern Buckeye Conference). Amy Beth Edie had four points, three saves, one kill, five blocks, three assists and 20 passes. Evelyn Woods had two kills, 12 blocks, two assists and 13 passes.
