Area businesses, clerk cited by state for tobacco and liquor violations

COLUMBUS -- Three Youngstown businesses and a clerk in Columbiana County have been cited for violating liquor and tobacco laws, according to reports released by the Ohio Investigative Unit of the state Department of Public Safety.
A 47-year-old Youngstown man at the A & amp; N Supermarket on Belmont Avenue in the city was cited for the Sunday sale of intoxicating liquor at about 12:25 p.m. Sunday, the reports show. Also on Sunday, at about noon, a 61-year-old Youngstown man at Atway's Market on Lexington Avenue was cited for Sunday liquor sales before a legal hour. Both markets' liquor permits also were cited.
A 24-year-old New Castle, Pa., man working at the Colonial House II on Market Street in Youngstown was cited for selling beer to a minor at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday, the reports show. A 19-year-old New Springfield man was given citations at the same time for consuming, possessing and purchasing beer. Also cited was the establishment's liquor permit.
In Columbiana County, a 23-year-old East Liverpool woman was cited for giving, selling or distributing tobacco products Saturday to a child at the Crawford's Dresden Avenue Market in East Liverpool. The market was not cited.
