SOCCER Boardman, Fitch girls win; Irish lose in Pa.

BOARDMAN -- Katie Banks scored the only goal of the game on an assist from Pam Prystash 34 minutes into the first half Wednesday as the Boardman High girls soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Cardinal Mooney.
Boardman (6-2, 3-0 Steel Valley Conference) had 16 shots on goal, compared to 14 for Mooney (6-2).
The Spartans' goalkeeper Liz Agnew made 11 saves. Cardinals keeper Adrianne Detesco made seven saves.
Austintown Fitch 7, Lakeview 0
AUSTINTOWN -- Brittney Getz and Kelly Croysdale each scored two goals while Erica Bortman, Danielle Storey and Jodi Bowlen added one apiece to pace Austintown Fitch (6-0-2).
Storey, Bowlen Rachel Blazak, Amanda Sprowl and Kayla Brace each had an assist.
Fitch keeper Alison Chasko made eight saves.
For Lakeview (1-6-2), keeper Megan Gilroy had 17 saves.
Wilmington 3, Ursuline 1
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- After a scoreless first half, junior Scarlet Bretz had two goals and junior Andrea Burns added another for the Greyhounds (4-3).
Freshman Mariah Snyder had the goal for Ursuline (3-5).
Badger 3, Maplewood 0
CORTLAND -- Hannah Miller scored all three goals for the Braves (2-3-1, 1-1 Trumbull Athletic Conference).
Jen Fitch had three assists. Keeper Liz Smith had seven saves.
Badger had 33 shots on goal compared to 10 for the Rockets (0-6). Goalkeeper Catherine Benton made 16 saves.
Boys
COLUMBIANA -- Ken Wagenhouser scored two goals and Chris Cook added one as Crestview defeated Mathews 3-1.
Jonathan Kinkead and Jordan Reynolds each had a save for the Rebels (8-0).
Brent McLaughlin scored the goal for the Mustangs (4-2-2).
