South Range superintendent reports a rise in enrollment



NORTH LIMA -- Superintendent James Hall told the South Range Board of Education on Monday night that enrollment is up by 15 pupils, with a total enrollment of 1,337.
There are 395 elementary school pupils, 522 middle school pupils and 420 enrolled in the high school, he said.
The board adopted a general fund of $8,976,100. Treasurer Jim Phillips said the figure represents a 6-percent increase over last year.
The district's six new teachers attended the meeting.
They are: John Rappach, seventh- and eighth-grade social studies and seventh-grade girls basketball coach; Lynn Shodd, middle school physical education; Gwen Spitz, eighth-grade language arts; David Owen, fourth-grade language arts and socials studies and eighth-grade girls basketball coach; Dana Veneskey, elementary music, middle school chorus and assistant high school band director; and David Vinopal, middle school industrial technology.
