Value of talent for concert: At least $600,000

SHARON, Pa. -- The cost of the talent appearing at the Vocal Group Hall of Fame induction concert Wednesday would be prohibitive if the groups weren't performing for free.
Bob Crosby, executive director of the Hall of Fame, said he checked current booking prices for those who will perform and the cost of talent alone would be between $600,000 and $700,000.
The surviving members of The Mamas and The Papas, a group inducted in 2000, have been added to the list of those who will take to the stage, Crosby said.
John Phillips and Cass Elliot are deceased, but Michelle Phillips and Denny Doherty will reunite for this concert, he said.
There's a list of about 20 other performers and groups on the bill, including The Temptations (inducted in 1999), The 5th Dimension (being inducted this year), The Ink Spots (inducted in 1999) and Mary Wilson of The Supremes (inducted in 1998).
This year's induction ceremony will occur Tuesday at the Hall of Fame at 98 E. State St. and is by invitation only.
Tickets are available for the induction concert to be held at 7 p.m. at Cafaro Field at the Eastwood Mall in Niles. Prices are $25 for general admission to the upper stadium, $35 for general admission in the lower stadium and field table seats at $50 each. They may be obtained at Ticketmaster, the Hall of Fame, Eastwood Mall Customer Service Center and the Scrappers box office at Cafaro Field.
