WARREN -- Mahoning Riverfest 2002, a free family event, is from noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at Packard Park, 1703 Mahoning Ave. N.W. Events will include the kickoff of the annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign; a bike tour; live music by the W.D. Packard Band and others; canoe and kayak trips; river life discoveries; interactive children's tent; Carnegie Science Center activities; food and beverages; and a farmers market.
Art in the Park preview
YOUNGSTOWN -- An Artists' Preview reception for Art in the Park is from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Davis Education & amp; Visitor Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens. Guest artist, Julie Zickefoose, a nationally recognized nature writer and illustrator of birds, will sign her new book, "Natural Gardening for Birds -- Simple Ways to Create a Bird Haven." Nature-related art on sale will include paintings, limited edition prints, photography, sculpture, woodcarvings, pottery and jewelry created by more than 30 professional artists. Cable changes
AKRON -- Effective Sept. 30, Time Warner Cable will make several programming changes. Disney Channel and Lifetime Movie Network will be added to Expanded Basic and Lifetime Real Women and Nickelodeon Games and Sports (GAS) to Digital Tier, and Nick GAS will simulcast as part of the Digital Family Tier. Two new digital tiers, the Digital Family Tier and the Digital Sports Tier will be made available to digital customers at $2 each. The family tier will offer Biography, History International, Nick GAS, Boomerang, Noggin, Disney West, Discovery Kids and Toon Disney. Sports tier channels will include Fox Sports Digital Networks, Speed Channel and Fox Sports World. Cinemax West, More Max West, Action Max West and Thriller Max West will be replaced by 5 Max, @MAX, Outer Max and W Max.
