GIRARD -- On Aug. 24 Luanne E. Ries, Miller Road, Fairlawn, and Larry A. Nowak, 3451 Lovers Lane, Ravenna, were united in marriage during a 3 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Gary Beck at First Assembly of God Church.
The couple accepted congratulations at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex Centre in Liberty where a reception was held in their honor. After a wedding trip to Hawaii they live at the groom's address.
The bride's white matte satin gown was designed in an off-the-shoulder mode and enhanced with beaded embroidery. It featured a draped neckline and chapel train.
Wearing wisteria gowns were Denise Ries, the bride's sister-in-law and honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Julie Pagano; Jennifer Ries, her sister-in-law; Alison Ottman; Julie White; Leah Herman, the groom's sister; and Amy Jenkins. Flower girls were the bride's cousin, Rachel Molnar, and his niece, Sarah Kline.
Jack Herman was best man for his brother-in-law, and groomsmen were Garry Nowak and Harry Nowak, brothers of the groom; Jim Campbell, his brother-in-law; and Jim Ries, Chris Ries and David Ries, the bride's brothers. Junior usher was Phillip Kline, the groom's nephew, and ring bearer was Jordan Kay, the bride's godson.
The bride, a speech therapist with Easter Seals of Northeast Ohio in Fairlawn, earned a degree in speech and language pathology at Kent State University.
The groom served four years in the U.S. Army, and is a maintenance foreman with Poly One in Macedonia.
