GIRL SCOUTS Council calls for adult volunteers

The Lake to River Council of Girl Scouts is seeking adults to fill volunteer needs that range from a few hours a month to a one-time-only project to leaders.
The organization provides programs to girls ages 5 to 17 but says it is limited by the number of adult volunteers "willing to place a priority on the time it takes to teach and guide tomorrow's leaders."
Women and men who volunteer to lead girls in small-group settings are provided with training and materials to make this service fun and interesting. Staff and volunteer support is always available. Leaders meet monthly in informal settings to discuss successes and challenges.
The council serves girls in Ashtabula, Trumbull and Mahoning Counties. For more information, contact the director of membership services at (330) 652-5877 or (800) 362-9430.
Girl Scouts of the USA was founded in 1912 and has a membership of more than 3.5 million girls and adults. The group aims to cultivate values, social conscience and self-esteem in young girls, while also teaching them critical life skills that will enable them to succeed as adults.
