GARDEN CLUBS



MONDAY
XMembers of Garden Gate will tour Mill Creek Park and have a picnic at 5:30 p.m. Hostess will be Lucy Greco, and co-hostess will be Geri Tarka.
XLt. Col. Roderick Hosler, director of the ROTC program at Youngstown State University, will discuss "Women in the Military" at the noon meeting of Poland.
XJudy Saul will be in charge of the program at the meeting of Wildwood. Co-hostesses will be Helen Van Nest and Ginny Snyder.
TUESDAY
XAustin Manor will be the setting for the 11:30 a.m. meeting of East Side. There also will be a tour of Mary Calai's gardens in Canfield. Hostesses will be Mrs. Calai and Jean Shingledecker.
XMembers of Gleaners will take a day trip for lunch at the Log Cabin in Zelienople, Pa., with stops along the way.
XOur Lady of Fatima will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Blue Wolf Tavern for lunch. Donna Brestow will present a program on Chinese art of placement.
WEDNESDAY
XFriendship night and a casserole dinner are planned by members of Country Lane. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Boardman Township Park. Doris Niswander will be in charge of the Tisket Tasket Basket.
XGerri Stevens and Terry Anness will be in charge for the 10 a.m. meeting of Daisy Dozen at the Anness residence. The program will be "Color Analysis."
XGlen Gardeners will meet at 11:30 a.m. for lunch at the Salt Box Gallery and Herbs. The program will be a Shakespeare wreath by Marian Sebastiano, and hostesses will be Margaret Reinman and Marty McConnell.
XMembers of Suburban will meet at noon for a boat ride and Dutch treat lunch.
THURSDAY
XSue Boyd will be hostess for the 7 p.m. meeting of Coitsville. The program will be an auction.
XElection of officers and an herb wreath workshop will be on the agenda for the 7:30 p.m. meeting of Driftwood members. Dolly Vivalo will be hostess, and co-hostess will be Mary Dimitriou.
XJohnny Appleseed members will meet for election of officers and a program by Roger Myers of American Beauty Landscaping. Hostess will be Sonia Tsvetkoff, and co-hostess will be Rose Marie Zamary. Sheri Porterfield will be in charge of the door prize.
SATURDAY
XMembers of Sunflower will meet at 1 p.m. with Annie P. Craighead serving as hostess. Sallie Pinkard will be in charge of the program "Planting and Storing of Bulbs and Tubers."
UPCOMING
XThe Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown will hold a president and program meeting at 10 a.m. Sept. 27 at the Poland Library. Refreshments will be served at 11 a.m. The fee is $5. Reservations are to be made by Friday by calling (330) 740-7116, ext 210.
