Rape indictment
WARREN -- A 21-year-old man has been indicted on two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition. Daniel Huseman, of Penn Avenue, Bentlyville, Pa., was secretly indicted by the Trumbull County grand jury Wednesday. He was arrested and brought to court Thursday.
Huseman pleaded innocent, and Judge John Stuard of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court set his bond at $100,000. Prosecutors said Huseman is accused of having sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl at a home in Lordstown.
Robotics team sale
GIRARD -- The Girard High School Robotics Team will have a garage sale at the city building starting at 9 a.m. Sept. 28. Students are accepting donations for the sale, which can be taken to the city building or can be picked up. If you have a donation, call Girard High School at (330) 545-2596 for pickup.
Meeting time changed
HOWLAND -- Howland trustees have changed the time of their regular meeting on the second Wednesday of each month to 7 p.m. They will also continue to meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m.
Mesopotamia festival
MESOPOTAMIA -- The first Mesopotamia Fall Heritage Day will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the town hall on state Route 534, just south of state Route 87.
The event will bring together Yankee and Amish craftsmen performing live indoor and outdoor demonstrations of soap making, quilting, rug weaving, basket weaving, apple butter cooking, horse shoeing, blacksmithing, candle making, leather working and more.
Admission is $2, with children 12 and under free. Proceeds will go toward preservation of Mesopotamia Town Hall, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
JFK benefit dinner
WARREN -- John F. Kennedy Catholic High School will sponsor its annual Outback Steakhouse dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 3 in the school cafeteria.
Dinners are $15 for adults, $6 for children 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger. Take-out is available.
After the dinner, the school will host the annual homecoming weekend bonfire and pep rally.

Drugs reported stolen
NILES -- A Masury woman told police a man known to her took several bottles of prescription medication from her child's diaper bag while she was visiting a friend.
The woman was staying at a friend's Mason Street home about 1 p.m. Wednesday when her daughter saw the man remove the bottles, which contained OxyContin, Valium, Loritab and Zanax.
