Schedule set for fall cleanup



Tires, paint cans and batteries are among the items that won't be accepted.
HILLSVILLE, Pa. -- Township supervisors have set a fall cleanup for Sept. 24 to Oct. 1.
Residents should place items in bags or bundles at the curb the day before the scheduled collection.
Plate glass, anything longer than 10 feet, perishables or garbage, batteries, tires, paint cans or large amounts of wood will not be accepted.
Refrigerators and air conditioners will only be taken if the cooling substance has been professionally removed and tagged. Furniture and other appliances are acceptable.
Mobile home park residents must place items at the park entrances. The crews will not enter mobile home parks.
The pickup schedule:
USept. 23: Hillsville (East and West Main Streets), Fox Avenue, Churchill Road to Johnson area, Rich Avenue, Carbon area, U.S. Route 224 from the Ohio line to Churchill Road including Quaker Heights.
USept. 24: Overlook, Francis, Rachal and Arena Drives, Churchill to the river, Route 224 from Churchill, Carbon-Micco Road, Hilltop and Butch Estates.
USept. 25: Old 224, Mohawk School Road, Edinburg, state Route 551 south, Route 224 east of Hilltop Estates.
USept. 26: North Edinburg, the eastern section of the township including U.S. Route 422, the Harbor, Sankey Run Road, New Castle-Struthers Road (Skyhill), Route 551 north, Twilight and Devite Trailer Parks.
USept. 30: Zoccoli Trailer Park, Route 551 north to the township line, Mathews Road, Denny Drive, Garner, Five Points, Zoccoli and Palmer roads.
UOct. 1: Ambrosia, Baird, Hillsville and Coffee Run roads.
UOct. 2: New Bedford Road and the remainder of New Castle-Struthers Road, Butch Circle, McBride and Carlisle roads.
UOct. 3: Erskine Quarry, Graham, River and Jacobson roads.
