CONTRIBUTION | Spending breakdown



Former Farrell teacher Ted Pedas presented the Farrell Area School District with a $30,980 contribution Monday, his 33rd consecutive annual contribution to the district. Here's how he proposes the money be spent:
$1,500 to fund the 15th annual Student Motivational and Improvement Awards.$1,350 to fund the 11th annual High School Student of the Month Awards.$1,080 to fund the eighth annual Elementary School Student of the Month Awards.$1,000 to the annual Volunteer of the Year Awards.$12,000 for planetarium equipment, supplies and maintenance.$2,000 to the annual "Great Idea!" Grant Program.$1,000 for the annual John G. Sava/Ted Pedas/Pennsylvania State University Shenango Campus Legacy Award.$400 to the Farrell/Wheatland Elementary School PEG/PTA and Farrell High School Parent and Educators Network for Students programs.$3,000 to the annual Secondary and Elementary School Educator of the Year Awards.$1,200 to the annual Employee of the Month Awards for Non-Instructional Staff.$1,200 to the Wheatland Student of the year Achievement and Recognition Awards.$250 to the Preschool Family Center.$2,000 to the Citizen and Junior Citizen of the Year Awards.$3,000 to the Family Service System Reform Program.Pedas said he will also continue to financially support the school district's Hall of Fame program recognizing outstanding alumni and the school district, alumni and city of Farrell Internet Web sites.
