2 charged after altercation at school

STRUTHERS -- Preliminary hearings will be Feb. 19 for a Lowellville father and son charged in an altercation Sept. 4 at Lyon Plat School.
According to police reports, Mark J. Mediate, 36, and his father, Anthony N. Mediate, 58, both of New Castle Road, Lowellville, arrived at the school to pick up Mark Mediate's children for visitation.
Police reports state that the children did not want to leave with their father and began clinging to their mother, Lisa Len-Mediate, and her sister, Tricia A. Len.
At that point, the report says, the father and grandfather started pulling the children and chasing after them.
When the mother tried to intervene, the men pushed and shoved both Len-Mediate and her sister, according to the report.
Mark Mediate is charged with domestic violence and Anthony Mediate with assault.
