GIRARD -- James A. McKernan and his bride, the former Joanne Goist, both of Girard, honeymooned in West Palm Beach, Fla., after they were married Aug. 3 at St. Rose Church and were honored afterward during a reception at Avon Oaks Ballroom.
The Rev. Howard Ziemba presided at the 2 p.m. wedding for the daughter of Mark and Kay Mariano, 7804 Oak Drive, Brookfield, and the son of James and Linda McKernan, 659 E. Kline St.
The bride is a sales associate II with First Place Bank in Niles. The groom, a press operator with Delphi Packard Electric Systems in Warren, holds an associate degree in political science from Akron University. They live at 1142 Leslie Lane.
Embellished with pearls and sequins, the bride's A-line gown featured a fitted satin bodice and a box-pleated skirt that flowed into a cathedral train.
Silver gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Haldre Acerra; the bridesmaids, Colleen Hunkus and Laurie Spisak, sisters of the bride; Robin Durkin, the groom's sister; Lorie McCale; Amy Clare; and Marisa Zimomra; and junior bridesmaid, Lindsay Durkin, the groom's niece. Flower girl was the bride's niece, Brooke Hunkus.
Mark Pagano served as best man, and groomsmen were Dave Sabatino; Shawn Durkin; Bill Durkin, the groom's brother-in-law; Jim Warga; Mark Cretella; and Frank Gugliotta. Junior groomsman was the bride's nephew, Bobby Hunkus, and ring bearer was her brother, Christopher Mariano.
