BOYS SOCCER Tigers beat Champion; Mooney wins



HOWLAND -- Elliot Lonsdale and Neil Clagett scored goals Saturday to give the Howland High boys soccer team a 2-0 victory over Champion.
Mike Maiorano assisted on both goals for the Tigers (2-1-1), and goalie Jonathan Airhart had six saves in the shutout.
Cardinal Mooney 7, Wilmington (Pa.) 1
STRUTHERS -- Senior Chris Conese scored his first three goals of the season and sophomore Kiki Willis added two more for the Cardinals (3-1) who have won three straight.
Jeff Seddon and Pat Walker also scored and Alex Simon had two assists for the Cards who opened a 6-0 lead at the break.
Mark Dobish scored on a penalty kick for the Greyhounds (1-3).
Badger 5, Warren Harding 1
WARREN -- Kyle Arnold scored two goals to lead Badger past Warren Harding. Nate Raught, Matt Riley and Eric Klingemier added one each for the Braves (2-2).
Badger goalies Josh Dagres and Josh Gilliland combined for 15 saves.
Todd Schaegal scored for Harding (0-4).
Salem 5, United 0
HANOVERTON -- Ryan Barrett scored two goals for the Quakers (2-3-1). Bruce Moffett, Brian Schwartz and Matt Barrett had a goal apiece.
Chris Frank had an assist for the Quakers. Goalkeeper Andrew Loudon had six saves.
The United (2-3) goalie Evan Egli had eight saves.
Hubbard 4, Niles 2
HUBBARD -- Chris Styn and Justin Daly each scored two goals for the Eagles (3-1). Anthony Palestro and Styn had an assist apiece. Goalkeeper Mike Mogg and Aaron Severa combined for seven saves.
Brian McFadden and Nathan Mang each scored a goal for the Red Dragons (0-3-2). Keeper Brett Gatta had 15 saves. Hubbard had 35 shots on goal, compared to 14 for Niles.
West Branch 7, Louisville 0
BELOIT -- Jake Schlosser scored two goals and had an assist while Cory Criss, Dave Frankhouser, Adam Harris, Kurt Tillman and Tim McCracken each had a goal for the Warriors (4-1, 1-0 NBC).
West Branch took more shots (24-6) and tried all seven corner kicks.
