YOUNGSTOWN Library to unveil catalog, circulation systems

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Public Library of Youngstown & amp; Mahoning County will introduce its new online catalog and circulation system Tuesday.
The new Windows-based system by Innovative Interfaces will be easier to use and offer more information and flexibility than the library's current computerized catalog, according to Janet S. Loew, communications and public relations director.
It will use a mouse to navigate, and patrons can search by using title, author, subject or keyword.
In the near future, patrons will be able to view their records, see the books they have checked out, find due dates, receive reserve and overdue notices via e-mail, and place reserves online.
Classes for the new "Millennium" system are set for:
Main Library: 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 15; 11 a.m. to noon Oct. 22.
Poland Library: 10 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. Oct. 16; 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. Oct. 30. To register, call (330) 744-8636, #2, on Sept. 18.
