TRI-COUNTY LEAGUE United beats Ridge, stays unbeaten

Lisbon used a late rally to edge Wellsville, 22-21.
MINERAL RIDGE -- Jordan Phillips scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter as United High came from behind to edge Mineral Ridge 21-20 Friday night.
It was a seesaw battle that saw Brian Palmer of the Rams kick a pair of 30-yard field goals.
Joe Briceland of United (3-0) returned an interception 20 yards and Jon Austin of Mineral Ridge (2-1) recovered a fumble in the Golden Eagles' end zone.
Corey Manfull of United returned an intercepted pass 35 yards for a TD and Levi Leigh of the Rams tallied on a 5-yard run.
Lisbon 22, Wellsville 21
WELLSVILLE -- Chris Friend caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Jay Yorty late in the fourth quarter to give Lisbon (2-1) the victory.
Frank Gallo, who rushed for 123 yards on 13 carries for Lisbon, scored on a 4-yard run in the first quarter.
Shayne Rose caught TD passes of 5 and 35 yards from Wellsville (0-3) quarterback Marc LaSola, who was 7-of-12 for 138 yards.
Southern 49, Bridgeport 14
SALINEVILLE -- A.J. Witherow rushed for 113 yards on 10 carries and scored on a 35-yard run, while Nate Jones gained 110 yards on 19 tries and scored on a 10-yard run for Southern (1-2).
Randy Pitts connected on 4-of-13 passes for 133 yards, which included TD strikes of 10 and 48 yards to Josh Dias and 23 yards to Dave Van Dyne.
Bridgeport (0-3) rushed for 169 yards and passed for 26.
