LIBERTY -- Township police and the FBI have released an enhanced photograph of the man being sought in the robbery of Key Bank on Belmont Ave. in Liberty Aug. 30.
The suspect is of medium build, 175 to 200 pounds, and has a scarred face. He gave a teller a note that said he had a weapon.
It was the third bank heist in the township this year. The other two suspects were caught quickly.
Body identified
YOUNGSTOWN -- The body found in the covered cargo bed of a pickup truck Sunday at Bob O's Towing on Logan Avenue has been identified as Terrence M. Marsh, 46, of Westview Drive, Hubbard, according to the Mahoning County Coroner's Office. Marsh was reported missing Aug. 30.
Marsh's body, partially wrapped in a blanket held closed with duct tape, likely had been in the bed of the truck since Aug. 21, police said. The truck was towed Aug. 24 from Lyden Avenue, but the body was not discovered until tow-truck drivers detected a smell Sept. 1.
Texas man charged
YOUNGSTOWN -- A Texas man seen masturbating in a tree near a restaurant in the Uptown area of Market Street at 2 a.m. today refused to come down when told to by police, reports show.
When Christopher Corbett, 22, finally jumped down, he broke a branch and struck Patrolman Josh Kelly in the face and upper body, the officer said in his report.
After a struggle, Corbett was handcuffed and escorted to a cruiser, where he banged his head on a window then on the overhead light bar. On the way to the county jail, Corbett threatened to kill Kelly then spit in the officer's face and hair, reports show.
Corbett's behavior, described by police as bizarre, continued at the jail, where he began exercising in place and doing sit-ups.
He faces charges of disorderly conduct, aggravated menacing, assault and resisting arrest.
Murder charge
YOUNGSTOWN -- Jesse J. Driver III, 26, of West Glenaven Avenue has been charged with murder in the shooting death of Charles A. Green, who was found at 4:22 a.m. Sunday slumped behind the steering wheel of a car in the 600 block of Ridge Avenue.
He had been shot in the right side of his head, neck and shoulder. Green, 24, of Lansdowne Boulevard died Wednesday night.
Driver was held in the county jail overnight pending arraignment today in municipal court.
Arrest in police station
YOUNGSTOWN -- Joseph Croom, 56, of West LaClede Avenue entered a restricted area of the police department Thursday afternoon, refused to leave, became disruptive and yelled obscenities, police said.
Croom was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. His record at municipal court includes convictions for criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, begging, public indecency and aggravated menacing.
Board OKs spending
YOUNGSTOWN -- The city's control board approved these spending items Thursday: a $10,000 facade renovation loan for Brilex Industries at 1201 Crescent St.; a $4,666 facade renovation loan for Wickview Boarding Home at 15 Illinois Ave; a $2,200 facade renovation loan for the Family Service Agency at 535 Marmion Ave.; and a letter of credit for a $5,000 performance bond for New Millennium Inc. to do roofing work at Westlake Terrace homes on the city's North Side.
