MERCER COUNTY Judge issues sentences in attacks

Police said one man repeatedly shoved and hit four Sharon officers.
MERCER, Pa. -- Violent attacks resulted in several people being given prison terms this week.
Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Wherry sentenced Antonio White, 22, of George Street, Sharon, to 54 months to 10 years for felony aggravated assault for a Nov. 15, 2001, attack on a woman.
According to the police report, White repeatedly struck her in the face with a closed fist, and grabbed her by the throat and choked her while holding her in a headlock.
She suffered a broken tooth, a bruised neck and swelling and bruising to the face and eye area. The attack occurred at a Mesabi Street, Sharon, address.
Michael Millhoff, 29, of Springfield Church Road, Jackson Center, was sentenced by Judge Francis Fornelli to seven months to two years for felony aggravated assault in the Sept. 18, 1999, attack on two men at the Quaker Steak & amp; Lube, 101 E. Connelly Blvd., Sharon.
According to police reports, Millhoff struck one man in the head and face area with a glass object, causing bleeding and lacerations so severe that the victim required emergency surgery. He also struck another man in the mouth.
Assault, accident
Octavius Clark, 22, of New Castle Avenue, Sharon, was sentenced to six months to two years to be followed by four years' probation for felony aggravated assault, then placed on parole. He was also fined $50 for running a red light and failing to stop after causing a three-car accident which injured one woman July 18 at the intersection of East Budd and New Castle Avenue, Sharon.
When apprehended after the accident at a Prindle Street, Sharon, address, he repeatedly shoved and struck the four Sharon police officers making the arrest, according to police reports.
Albert Mundy, 21, of South Stateline Road, Sharon, was sentenced to four months to two years in jail for misdemeanor resisting arrest, to be followed by one year's probation.
According to police reports, Mundy was being treated at UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, after another incident and tried to escape. In the process, he struck Shenango Township police officer Robert David in the throat. David was treated at a hospital.
Charles Dean Norris, 29, of Mesabi Street, Farrell, was sentenced to time already served, then paroled for misdemeanor simple assault.
According to police reports, last Dec. 14 he repeatedly struck a woman in the face and head areas and also injured her arm. He also struck, shoved and kicked her and she required medical treatment. The assault occurred at a Ravine Place, Sharon, address.
Benjamin Roberts, 33, of Nimick Street, Sharon, was sentenced to three months to one year for misdemeanor simple assault and unlawful restraint. According to police reports, on April 10, he hit a woman on the left side of the head with a .22-caliber revolver, then threatened to kill her while holding the gun barrel in her mouth. He also prevented her from leaving his residence. He was given 17 days' credit for time served.
Other sentences
Several other people were also sentenced this week.
Judge Wherry sentenced William Foore, 36, of Kirkland Drive, Mercer, to one to four years for felony statutory sexual assault for an Aug. 1, 2001, incident. No further information was available from the court.
Roy Gibson, 53, of South Ravine Avenue, Sharon, was sentenced to four to 12 months in jail for delivery of cocaine for selling 0.37 grams of cocaine to an undercover agent Oct. 17 at Idaho Street and Fruit Avenue in Farrell.
Judge Fornelli sentenced James Harris, 37, of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, to six months to two years for misdemeanor attempted theft by deception for using a forged check to pay for a $4,748 watch at King's Jewelry, 3407 E. State St., Hermitage, on Sept. 5, 2001. He was given credit for 21 days served.
James Miller III, 19, of West 10th Street, Greenville, was given a suspended sentence and placed on three years' probation for misdemeanor forgery. According to court documents, he conspired with others to steal a checkbook, then forge and cash checks totaling $3,800 at two banks in August, 2001. He was also ordered to undergo drug and alcohol counseling and ordered to pay one third of the total of the checks in restitution.
George White Jr., 41, of 12th Street, Greenville, was sentenced to six months to one year for possessing drug paraphernalia. He was found Oct. 7 with a pipe and rod commonly used to smoke cocaine, according to court documents.
