Dinners honors the Heldmans for 65th jubilee



BOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Otis R. Heldman Sr., 90 Green Bay Drive, were guests of honor during two dinner parties held to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary.
The couple's daughter, Rachel Duennes of Los Angeles, was hostess for a dinner for out-of-town family members that took place Aug. 25 at the honorees' home.
The couple's other daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Heldman of Boardman, and Howard Heldman of Struthers, Mr. Heldman's brother, were hosts of a dinner Aug. 28 at the Springfield Grille for local family members and friends.
The former Phyllis R. Purnell and Mr. Heldman were married Aug. 28, 1937, at Struthers Presbyterian Church, where they are members.
Now retired, Mrs. Heldman was a private-duty registered nurse. She is a member of Miriam Chapter 278, Order of the Eastern Star, and Youngstown Hospital Nurses Alumni Association.
Mr. Heldman retired in 1977 from LTV Steel Corp., Youngstown, where he was a turn foreman. He is a member of Western Star, Scottish Rite and Aut Mori Grotto.
The family circle includes four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
