Wolfords mark 50th anniversary at family dinner

SALEM -- Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Wolford of 7736 Roller Road celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Oct. 24 at an intimate family dinner.
The couple's family includes their children, Dan Wolford of Lisbon, Gary Wolford of Salem, Jeff Wolford of New Middletown, Scott Wolford of Lisbon and Mary Wolford of Albuquerque, N.M., and four grandchildren.
Mr. Wolford and the former Marian Beardsley were married Oct. 24, 1952, in Winchester, Va. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and is retired from the Stambaugh-Thompson Co. in Alliance, where he was a store manager. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves, attaining the rank of first lieutenant. He attended Youngstown State University on the GI Bill and earned a bachelor's degree in management.
His wife worked as a nurse until retiring. She belongs to Greenford Christian Church and Good Sam's RV Club.
