McKinley band concert
NILES -- The McKinley High School Marching Band will have its annual concert Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Admission is free but donations will be accepted at the door for the local Relay for Life teams. The concert will feature musical highlights from the band's summer and fall performances, including routines by the majorettes and flag line.
Tree celebration
GIRARD -- A public ceremony celebrating the city's "Adopt a Tree Program" will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Tod Park.
Introducing yoga
CORTLAND -- Debi Cole and Dawn Perhacs will conduct a free class introducing yoga from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday in The Yoga Room, 2440 Niles-Cortland Road. Fall classes begin Nov. 4; call (330) 637-7171.
Children's author
WARREN -- Stuart J. Murphy, author of several children's books which emphasize math skills, will speak at a program for elementary school children and their families at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the main branch of the Warren-Trumbull Public Library.
Adult computer classes
NILES -- The McKinley Memorial Library will offer free computer classes for adults in November and December. Intro to Work is set for 1 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 a.m. Nov. 12 and Dec. 10. Intro to the Internet will take place at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7, 10 a.m. Nov. 9 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5. Intermediate Internet is set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20 and 10 a.m. Nov. 26. JFK rummage sale
WARREN -- Donations of furniture, appliances, books, yard supplies, children's clothing and toys are being sought for the rummage sale of John F. Kennedy High School Student Council. The sale will be Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the high school. Donations will be accepted at JFK from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. school days. Arrangements can be made to pick up larger items by calling (330) 369-1804.
New meeting date
LORDSTOWN -- The board of education has changed its November meeting date to 7 p.m. Nov. 13, with a work session scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the high school media center.
