LIMELIGHT Awards, achievements
MERCER, Pa.-- Dot Hillman, executive officer of Mercer County Builders Association, has been awarded the Rachel Manley Award by the Executive Officers Council of the National Association of Home Builders. The national honor is presented annually to an executive officer of an association with fewer than 250 members to recognize outstanding achievement in management. Mercer County Builders Association is one of 41 such groups in the Pennsylvania Builders Association, and Hillman's award is the first national individual honor ever received by a PBA executive officer.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Paul A. Leone, formerly of Youngstown, was recently awarded the 2002 Republican Gold Medal Award for Entrepreneur of the Year presented by the Business Advisory Council of the National Republican Congressional Committee in Chesapeake, Va. Leone, founder and president of Vector Utilities in Chesapeake, was honored for his leadership role in the small business community. He is a 1974 Wilson High School graduate, attended Youngstown State University and earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Virginia. He lives in the Chesapeake, Va., area and his company installs underground utilities and sewer systems.
HARTFORD -- Tim Woofter, president of Stanwade Metal Products in Hartford, has been elected to serve a two-year term on the board of directors of the Petroleum Equipment Institute. Woofter also serves as president of Luckey Oil Equipment and is a director of Cortland Savings & amp; Banking Co. He attended Youngstown State and Kent State universities and lives in Kinsman, where he is chairman of its board of township trustees.
YOUNGSTOWN -- JoAnn Stock, director of campaign and marketing for the Youngstown/Mahoning Valley United Way, has been awarded the professional designation of Certified Fundraising Executive by CFRE International, an independent organization which sets standards for philanthropy. Standards include tenure in the profession, education, professional achievements and commitment to service. Stock is a Youngstown State University graduate.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Joel D. McBurney, an investment representative in the Cornersburg office of Edward Jones Investments, has been named to the All-American Team of the American Funds Group of mutual funds. The title recognizes outstanding service to investors, financial expertise and dedication to sound investment principles. McBurney earned a bachelor's degree in business and secondary education from Youngstown State University and joined Edward Jones in July, 2000. He lives in Austintown.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Cambridge Home Health Care, an Akron-based company with offices in Youngstown and Warren, has been awarded the Cascade Capital Corp. Business Growth Award for 2002. To qualify, a company must increase sales by at least 100 percent or $5 million or increase employment by at least 50 percent in five years.
