South Range routs Rams, 31-0



Jackson-Milton put a damper on Springfield's playoff hopes.
NORTH LIMA -- South Range ended its season on a high note, taking a 21-0 first quarter lead to cruise past the visiting Rams 31-0 in an Inter-County League game Friday night.
Jed Chismar carried 14 times for 101 yards and the game's first two touchdowns as the Raiders (7-3, 5-2) out-rushed Mineral Ridge 234-24. Ben Johnston had six carries for 37 yards and a touchdown. Joe Marino caught a two-yard pass from Ryan Maxwell.
South Range advanced to the Division V regional finals last season, but will miss the playoffs this year.
Mineral Ridge (6-4, 4-3) quarterback Chris Ault, the ICL's leading passer, completed 11 of 25 passes for 106 yards, but was intercepted by Maxwell and Tony Darkadakis.
Jackson-Milton 20, Springfield 7
NORTH JACKSON -- Jackson-Milton waited until the final game of the season to spring an a key ICL upset.
The Bluejays (4-6, 4-3) turned back the Tigers, who were sixth in Div. V, Region 17 computer ratings.
Zach Kosa, a sophomore running back, scored on a 33-yard run and caught a 8-yard touchdown pass from Zack Nicholas. Kosa rushed for 56 yards on 10 carries.
Senior Lee Keck played running back, split end and quarterback for the Bluejays and gained 53 yards on nine carries.
Jonathan Vivo of Springfield (7-3, 5-2), gained 100 yards on 25 carries, which included a 3-yard TD run.
Western Reserve 27, Mathews 6
BERLIN CENTER -- Western Reserve (3-7, 1-6) won its first ICL game of the season, topping the Mustangs (1-9, 0-7), who finished last in the league.
