The Vindicator has made an adjustment to its phone system. Coaches and statisticians are asked to call (330) 747-1471 and then enter a four-digit extension number to report game results. Sports extensions are 1291, 1292, 1370, 1593, 1594, 1595 and 1596.
NHL's safety measure
It still smarts when a player gets smacked against the boards at an NHL arena, but not nearly as much as before. And when a player's head gets slammed into the glass, chances are he won't wake up the next morning with a pounding headache.
The NHL injury review committee made the recommendations to reduce injuries after a study showed the glass was contributing to a rise in concussions.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said teams have the option of "switching over [to a different type glass] immediately or continuing to work on the seamless [glass] to soften it up and make it more flexible."
