Next warden at Elkton prison comes from Leavenworth

ELKTON -- An associate warden at the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., will become the next head warden at Elkton Federal Correctional Institution.
Mark Bezy will be replacing Elkton FCI Warden Roy Morrison, 45, in about two months, officials announced Wednesday.
Morrison, a Cleveland native who took over at Elkton FCI in mid-2001, is being transferred to the post of senior deputy regional director of the federal bureau of prisons' western region in Dublin, Calif.
A news release indicated Morrison's transfer is routine. The prisons bureau transfers its management staff periodically for career development and to enhance its operations, the release stated.
Bezy began his career with the prisons bureau in 1978. He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
Besides serving as associate warden, his duties have included chief of correctional services, assistant correctional services administrator, correctional supervisor and correctional officer.
Bezy, whose age and hometown were not provided, is leaving a facility with a high-security lockup that holds 1,741 inmates and a minimum-security camp that holds 438 prisoners.
Elkton FCI has 1,872 prisoners in its low-security facility and 569 in a separate satellite lockup that also is low-security.
The prison is located along Scroggs Road, east of Lisbon.
