Cars wrecked: Was there a hole in one?

YOUNGSTOWN -- A 16-year-old boy's efforts to avoid police while driving a stolen 2003 Oldsmobile resulted in a hit-skip accident, then a crash into a tree at Stambaugh Golf Course, reports show.
Police pursued the boy after he failed to stop for a stop sign Wednesday on the North Side. The Charlotte Avenue boy drove over a lawn on Ohio Avenue, then hit a parked car, police said. He drove over a curb at Ohio and Gypsy Lane, almost hit a cruiser, then drove onto the golf course. He drove through the center of the golf course as officers watched from Gypsy Lane. The boy crashed into a tree and fled on foot toward Liberty, with police in pursuit.
Police caught him when he circled back. He faces charges of receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding, hit-skip, no driver's license and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was treated at Forum Health Northside Medical Center, then taken to the juvenile justice center.
