WARREN Second National plans buildings outside Valley
The plans are for Summit, Portage, Media and Wayne counties.
WARREN -- Second National Bank is spending millions of dollars to build branches outside the Mahoning Valley.
The Warren-based bank said it decided to upgrade its operations in Summit, Portage, Medina and Wayne counties after conducting a market study. In some cases, current branches will be closed and consolidated into one larger branch.
Second National plans to build a $1 million branch on state Route 91 in Hudson. Its branches in Stow and Hudson will be moved into this branch when it opens next spring.
Another $1 million branch will be built in Kent on state Route 43. Offices in Brimfield and Kent will be consolidated into this office, which is to be finished next spring.
In Medina, the bank will move its current branch to a new one on state Route 42. This branch, which will cost about $1 million to build, will be completed next summer.
Second National plans to build a branch in Wooster. It now has a wealth management team operating in Wooster that will move to the full-service branch when it is completed next summer.
Second National has been working on a new branch in North Olmsted, which will open next month. This new location is twice as large as the current branch, which it will replace.
Second National has 36 branches in nine counties.
