GREENVILLE, PA. Moose to help raise bucks for Christmas

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- There's a moose loose in Greenville, and helping to name it will not only give you a chance to put in your front yard but also will help decorate the town for Christmas.
Julie Miller came up with the idea and the Greenville Area Preservation Association is sponsoring the contest, says group spokeswoman Lorrie Smith.
The moose is a Christmas lawn ornament and can be found at any one of the downtown area businesses at any given time from now until Dec. 1, Smith said.
Those who want to participate should stop by the business that's hosting it at the time and think up a name for the animal.
Participants can submit as many names as they like at $2 per name.
Members of the Greenville Moose Club also have offered to help out, and sometime in the near future, club members will be seen in downtown Greenville in their moose attire collecting donations for Christmas decorations for the town, said Smith.
The winner will be announced at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 in Central Park during Greenville's Light Up Night.
Proceeds from the contest are being used to update the town's Christmas decorations for the event.
