A kidnapping is the focus of Mercer County Crime Solvers this week:
Crime: Kidnapping
Location: Greene Township, Mercer County.
Details: Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the kidnapping of a 21-year-old Greenville woman and her 17-month-old son on state Route 58 in the township around 2 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was driving east on Route 58 when a white older model Chevrolet Cavalier with Ohio registration plates passed her car and stopped in front of her, forcing her to stop as well. There were at least two people in the Cavalier, the victim said. A white man about 5 feet 11 inches tall with a thin build and wearing a black windbreaker and a black ski mask got out of the white car and into the rear passenger seat of the victim's vehicle, police said. He ordered the victim to drive on several back roads until they reached Slater Road in Williamsfield, Ohio, where he ordered her to stop and get out. The assailant also got out of the car, but he slipped and fell as he was walking to the front of the vehicle. Police said the victim used the opportunity to throw her purse at the man and then jump back into her car and drive away.
