Sharon rallies to beat Slippery Rock



SHARON, Pa. -- Matt Gill caught an 18-yard pass from T.J. Burke with 47 seconds remaining Friday to give Sharon a 13-10 victory over Slippery Rock.
Slippery Rock (5-3) had taken a 10-7 lead with 11:39 remaining in the game when Darren Dick booted a 23-yard field goal. The Tigers took over the ball with 2:31 remaining at their own 20-yard line.
Burke connected for three passes on the drive for 52 yards, the last one for the winning score.
Both teams scored in the second period when Slippery Rock took the lead on a 1-yard run by Travis Sarver, while Marcus Gilliland came back with a 10-yard run to tie the score at halftime.
Sharon (5-3) had 269 total yards, 166 rushing, while Slippery Rock finished with 210 total, 139 of those rushing.
Mohawk 45, Neshannock 0
MOHAWK, Pa. -- Jesse D'Amico and Marcus Russell combined for 228 yards rushing and six touchdowns to lead Mohawk (3-5, 2-3 Tri-County North).
D'Amico rushed for 115 yards on 14 carries and three scores, while Russell finished with 113 yards on 10 carries and three touchdowns for Mohawk. Travis Bessell added 94 yards and a touchdown. Neshannock's record fell to 0-8, 0-5.
