Truck jackknifes, closing exit ramp

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- An exit ramp off of U.S. Route 422 was closed for about an hour this morning as officials cleared off a jackknifed tractor-trailer and diesel fuel that spilled from one of its tanks.
Shenango Township police said the eastbound exit ramp to New Butler Road reopened at about 5:30 a.m. after officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection arrived to clear off about 75 gallons of diesel fuel from the road.
A fuel tank on the tractor-trailer punctured after the rig jackknifed at about 4:18 a.m. today, police said. Truck driver George Leone III, 51, of Treasure Lake, Pa., was not hurt, they said.
Township police said rainy weather contributed to the accident. There was nothing in the tractor-trailer bed, police added.
