Man scores Lottery win in Hermitage

HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Kenneth Geiger, 47, of Fredonia has won half of a $104,352 CASH 5 jackpot in the Pennsylvania Lottery.
His share is $62,176, minus 27 percent federal withholding tax.
Geiger bought his winning ticket Aug. 15 at the Tic Toc Food Mart at 4185 E. State St. and was to receive his winnings check at the store at 11:30 a.m. today.
Geiger is a regular Lottery player in a variety of games but this is the biggest prize he's won. He said he sees it as "a start for bigger and better wins."
The machine operator at Sharon Tube Co. and his wife, Karen, will use the money to fund their children's college educations. James, 18, and Rebecca, 17, both will begin college within the next two years, he said.
Pennsylvania Lottery proceeds are exclusively designated to benefit older citizens. It has provided $12.9 billion to programs such as property tax and rent rebate support, free and reduced fair transit programs, a drug prescription program and 52 Area agencies on Aging across the state since its inception three decades ago.
