Stepan jubilee is observed during picnic

BOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Stepan, 175 Erskine Ave., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a picnic Sept. 21 at Strossmayer Croatian Center in Vienna.
The honorees' family members were hosts for the event. Their children are Mark Stepan of Poland, Connie Carrier of Boardman, Bruce Stepan of Columbiana, Tom Stepan of New Springfield, Laura Wert and Michael Stepan, both of Youngstown, and Alison Hefner of Austintown. The family also includes 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The former Mary C. Miller and Mr. Stepan exchanged marriage vows Sept. 20, 1952, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hibbing, Minn.
Mrs. Stepan is a homemaker. She and her husband are members of St. Charles Church.
Retiring in 1990, Mr. Stepan was employed by Mahoning County as a court reporter for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class in Korea and is a member of VFW Post 93, American Legion Post 247 and Korean War Veterans Post 137. Mr. Stepan also is a sixth-degree black belt under grandmaster Kae Bae Chun.
