Garlands to mark 50th anniversary in Las Vegas



HUDSON, Fla. -- The 50th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Garland of Hudson, formerly of Braceville, will be celebrated Oct. 25 in Las Vegas, where the couple will spend some time while on a tour of western cities.
The former Dola Riddle and Mr. Garland were married on that date in 1952 at Camp Breckinridge, Ky., where he was stationed with the U.S.Army.
Mr. Garland retired in 1986 after 32 years of service with Republic Steel Corp. in Warren. He is a member of American Legion Post 699 and 40/8 Voiture 1182 in Florida.
His wife is also retired after being employed by Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs as a van driver in the Cortland and Kinsman areas.
The couple are members of Aripeka Elks Lodge 2520, Spring Hill Eagles and the U.F.W., all in Florida.
The couple's family includes Greg and Leta Garland of Arnold, Md.; Pam and Ray Myers of Braceville; Laura Loy of Fowler; Dona Webster of Michigan; and Susan and George Mixell of Hixon, Tenn. They also have 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
