YOUNGSTOWN -- Nuptial vows were exchanged at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 7 as Deanna L. Vernon and Jason M. Stewart, both of Toledo, were united in marriage at Sacred Heart Church.
A reception was held afterward at St. Michael Church Hall to honor the daughter of David and Diane Vernon of Campbell and the son of Jim and Terri Heyneman of Whitehouse and Jeffrey and Elizabeth Stewart of Monroe, Mich.
After a honeymoon at Niagara Falls and Toronto and Windsor, Canada, they live in Toledo.
The bride holds a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Bowling Green State University, and the groom earned a bachelor's degree is psychology at the University of Toledo. Both are employed at Convergys Corp. in Toledo.
The bride wore a Renaissance-style gown that featured an empire waistline, beaded bodice, sheer sleeves and a chapel-length train.
Royal-blue gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Shannon Geise and Valerie Raptis, and the bridesmaids, Kimberly Vernon, Gina Kindinis, Jennifer Camuso, Angela Beck, Tracy Merrell, Jennifer Meyers and Kristen Occhibove. Flower girls were Alexis Vernon, Laura Stewart and Lacey Braatz.
Best men were Damian Stewart and Mike Schwanbeck. Serving as groomsmen were James Heyneman, John Heyneman, Brandon Nowakowski, Larry Maher, David Vernon, Daniel Vernon, John Camuso and Jerry Powell. Junior groomsman was Brian Maher, and the ring bearer was Evan Stewart.
