Booths feted at reception on anniversary

BOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. James Booth, 6626 Applewood Blvd., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a reception held Oct. 12 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Canfield.
Honoring the couple on the occasion were their children and their spouses, Sharon and Gary Kirk of Houston; James and Susan Booth of Andover, Mass.; Mary and Andy Stockton of Gig Harbor, Wash; and David and Ann Booth and Richard and April Booth, all of Boardman; and the couple's 12 grandchildren.
The former Jane Surtell and Mr. Booth were married Oct. 11, 1952, at St. Stanislaus Church, Youngstown. Mrs. Booth is a member of St. Luke Church, Boardman, and her husband is a member of St. Andrews.
Mr. Booth worked in the family grocery store while growing up and served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS California during World War II. He retired in 1989 from Santisi Sparkle Markets, where he was a meat-department manager. His wife is a homemaker.
