CAMPBELL -- Tim Davis' 40th carry of the night was his biggest.
The Campbell running back ran for a 20-yard touchdown and George Malactaris added the extra point as the Red Devils came away with a 45-44 overtime win over Kennedy Catholic.
Davis, who has 1,063 yards this season, finished with 222 yards and three touchdowns as the Red Devils (5-3) won their third straight game.
It looked as though Campbell would put the game away early as Rick Quinn tossed two touchdown passes and Davis ran for another to give the Red Devils a 21-0 lead just two minutes into the second quarter.
Danny Harris scored on a keeper to cut Campbell's lead to 21-7.
On the next Red Devils possession, Ernest Cottie returned a Campbell fumble 29 yards for a touchdown. Kennedy cut its deficit to 21-20 late in the first half on a touchdown by Jon Jennings.
"It was better to be on the top end of the game early," Campbell coach John Ryan said. "When they came back on us our kids did a great job of keeping their composure. They knew they had to take care of it in OT."
Mike Triplett scored on a four-yard run and then caught a two-point conversion pass from Harris to give Kennedy its only lead of the game at 28-21 with 5:05 to play in the third quarter.
Campbell struck right back, tying the game on Adam Antalocy's 23-yard touchdown reception from Quinn.
Fumble
After Dan Stucky returned a Golden Eagle fumble to the Kennedy 4, Davis scored to give the Red Devils a 35-28 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Harris then capped a 67-yard drive with a 6-yard run and the Eagles tied the game at 35 with 10:29 left.
Malactaris then connected on a 19-yard field goal with 1:34 left to give Campbell a 38-35 lead.
Kennedy drove into Red Devil territory and missed a 38-yard field goal on what should have been the last play of the game.
But Campbell was penalized for roughing the kicker and Pearce connected from 27 yards out to send the game to overtime.
Kennedy scored first in overtime as Harris ran for a 4-yard touchdown. But Campbell's Mark Such blocked the extra point.
Kennedy went first in overtime and ran the ball four straight times. On second and goal at the four Harris went around right end and scored.
However Mark Such of Campbell blocked the extra point.
Quinn finished 9 of 18 for 155 yards and three scores and an interception. C. J. Johnson added six catches for 101 yards and a score.
"Ricky [Quinn] had the type of game that we knew he can have," Ryan said. "This was a great win for our kids."
