Youngstown man faces charges after woman is chased home

YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown resident Louis Taylor, 22, was arraigned Thursday night on felony charges of possession of crack cocaine, failure to comply with a police order and aggravated burglary.
The charges came after an episode that started in Youngstown and moved into Boardman Township.
Taylor is also wanted in Mercer County on a parole violation. He is being held in Mahoning County Jail.
According to police reports, a 30-year-old township woman said she was using a public pay phone in Youngstown at about 11:30 p.m. when two gunmen approached her. The woman, reports show, ran back to her Glenwood Avenue home, but the men chased her and tried to enter the house once she was inside.
Reports say a door to the home was broken and windows to a car in the driveway were broken. The woman had scratches to her knee, palm and cheek, but refused medical treatment.
Before police arrived the two men drove off in a 1998 Saturn, which was later determined to have been stolen. Officers, however, spotted the car and gave chase.
Both men jumped out of the car while it was still moving. The car came to rest against a house on Clearmont Street in Youngstown.
Taylor was found lying in the rear yard of a house on Clearmont. Reports say his shoulder was injured while jumping over a fence running from police. The other man was not found.
