Brookfield police chaplain plans 500-mile hunger walk

BROOKFIELD -- The Rev. Dan Cesene, Brookfield police chaplain, is planning a 500-mile walk to help the hungry.
The Rev. Mr. Cesene, pastor of Faith Assembly of God Church in Brookfield, will walk the mileage Nov. 4-13 on a 25-mile course through Brookfield, Vienna, Liberty and Hubbard.
Arrangements are being made with local businesses along the route to collect food and money.
The collection will go to Second Harvest Foodbank of the Mahoning Valley, which delivers food to 200 organizations for distribution in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties and Master's Table Ministries, an outreach program for the needy in the Brookfield area.
This summer, Rev. Cesene collected more than $10,000 in donations for missionary work in Mexico and Africa by sitting in a makeshift jail atop the Brookfield Township administration building for 72 hours on a bread-and-water diet.
