Bible study sessions
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Dr. D. Larry Kline, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church downtown, will teach three Bible study sessions from October 2002 to May 2003. Classes at International Towers, Boardman and Market streets, are on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 2 p.m. and started this week; the South Side classes will be at Denny's Restaurant, U.S. Route 224 in Boardman, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 8 a.m. starting Tuesday; and the Austintown classes will be at Denny's Restaurant on Mahoning Avenue on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 8 a.m. beginning Thursday. Blessing of animals

YOUNGSTOWN -- A musical appreciation service for pianist Sister Cynthia Hendrix will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 13 at Anointing Force World Outreach Church, 34 Jacobs Road.
Anniversary of founding
LIBERTY -- The Rev. Daniel Rohan and parishioners of St. Mark Orthodox Church, 3560 Loganway, will celebrate Sunday the 40th anniversary of the founding of St. Mark Church, the first all-English speaking orthodox church. The first service was in June 1962 at a church on Idlewood Avenue. In 1971, a long on Loganway was purchased and a traditional Byzantine style church was built and dedicated April 23 and 24, 1977. Bishop Demetri Khoury of the Midwest Antiochian Orthodox Diocese is the main celebrant for Vespers on Saturday at 5 p.m., followed by a parish banquet. A Hierarchical Liturgy is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Department of Catholic Charities Services of the Diocese of Youngstown is sponsoring Blessings of Age at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St, and at 1 p.m. Oct. 23 at Little Flower Church, 2040 Diamond St. N.E., Middlebranch (North Canton). Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will celebrate the Mass.
