Teachers back Dems
COLUMBUS -- The Ohio Federation of Teachers, which represents more than 20,000 teachers and school employees, has endorsed every Democratic candidate running for local seats on the state Legislature and Congress.
Endorsed are: Robert F. Hagan for the 33rd Ohio Senate District; and Frank M. Rivelle, Kenneth A. Carano, Sylvester D. Patton Jr., John A. Boccieri, Daniel Sferra, Sandra Stabile Harwood and George Distel for local state House seats.
All but Rivelle and Harwood are incumbents.
Also, the federation endorsed Timothy J. Ryan of Niles and U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland of Lucasville, both Democrats, for the 17th and 6th congressional districts, respectively.
