ROUNDUP Liberty defeats Newton Falls
Laura Kellow, Ami Markowitz and Sunny Smallwood ignited the Leopards to their sixth win.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Laura Kellow had five kills and Ami Markowitz added four more, as the Liberty High volleyball team defeated Newton Falls 15-10, 20-18 in Trumbull Athletic Conference action Thursday.
Sunny Smallwood was in with 11 points for the Leopards (6-10, 3-9).
For the Tigers (4-11, 3-10), Ashley Shaver assisted 12 times and Lora Mason had eight kills.
Hubbard 15-15, Champion 3-6
CHAMPION -- Jessica Williams scored 10 points and had six digs, Traci Hassell had eight digs and 10 assists, while Monika Rajkovicava came up with eight kills and two blocks for the Eagles (20-0, 14-0 TAC).
Shannon Gardiner had four points, while Heather Pegg had two aces, five kills and three blocks for the Golden Flashes.
Brookfield 15-15, LaBrae 5-13
BROOKFIELD -- For Brookfield, Kim Najdusak had nine points and four aces and Jessica Zebroski had six points, two aces and 13 digs to lead Brookfield.
Regina Deramo added nine digs and 10 assists and Becky Smith had six kills and two blocks for the Warriors (10-7, 8-5 TAC).
For LaBrae (6-13, 4-9), Amanda Gordon had four points, three aces, six kills, eight digs and two blocks and Amber Dietelbach had six assists.
Lakeview 15-15, Badger 4-2
CORTLAND -- Lauren McCumber, Whitney Keyser and Michelle Antonelli each had five points to lead Lakeview (15-4, 11-2 TAC). Heidi Crocker added five kills.
Jenna Bush had four points to lead Badger (0-16, 0-14).

YOUNGSTOWN -- Sharina Freeman had nine kills for the Raiders (5-12). Brittney Warren scored 13 points, 10 aces and had a block.
April Ruse paced the Cardinals (3-13) with 30 digs. Wendy Jackson had 33 assists and Michelle Pelini scored 10 points and had two blocks.
Poland 15-15, Niles 2-3
POLAND -- Rae Anne Coppola scored eight points and she had eight kills and two blocks for the Bulldogs (13-5, 7-2 Metro Athletic Conference). Kristen Stanyard had 16 assists and five digs, while Steffi Graf had seven kills, four digs and two blocks.
Howland 15-15, Struthers 8-2
HOWLAND -- Brittany Kelly scored 10 points, with four aces, nine assists and a kill for the Tigers (9-8, 4-5 MAC). Stephanie Burns had 16 points, two aces, four kills and a block. Jaime Kelly had one point, eight kills and six blocks.
Stephanie Monus led the Wildcats (7-10, 0-9) with four kills. Jacquie Trevis had four blocks.
Jackson-Milton 16-15, Western Reserve 14-12
BERLIN CENTER -- Shauna Durig scored 13 points, with three aces and nine kills for the Bluejays (9-6, 6-4 Inter-County League). Ashley Loutzenhiser had three points, seven digs, seven kills and a block.
Quinn McCammon of the Blue Devils (14-7, 8-3) scored five points, with three aces, two digs and a kill. Katie Harmon had seven points, two aces, 22 assists, two digs and a kill.

COLUMBIANA -- Kate Kestner scored nine points, with three kills for the Rebels (15-3, 12-0 Tri-County League). Lindsay Sapp had 12 assists and a kill, while Abbey Fristik scored six points, with five aces and five kills.

BELOIT -- Samantha Benner collected three kills, a block and three saves; Amber Metzgar had six points, a save, four kills, a block, seven assists and 11 passes; while Amanda Benner added a point, four kills, two blocks and four passes for the Warriors (17-2, 10-2 Northeastern Buckeye Conference).
