YOUNGSTOWN 2 men shot while standing on porch on Woodcrest Ave.

One victim was shot in the shoulder, and another has a bullet in his abdomen.
YOUNGSTOWN -- "Lucky my kids were in school," a woman said of the gunfire that erupted Tuesday afternoon in her Woodcrest Avenue neighborhood.
Two men, Vandy Bryant and Jamal D. Moore, were hit as they stood on a porch in the 1400 block of Woodcrest, police said. The shots came from across the street, said Capt. Robert Kane, chief of detectives.
Some of the bullets penetrated the doors of a car parked in the street and the window frame and brick at 1459-1461 Woodcrest. The East Side street has row apartments.
Moore, 25, of Lakeview Avenue, who was shot in the shoulder, was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Bryant, 19, of Roslyn Drive, who was shot in the abdomen, was in stable condition today at the hospital.
Moore told police he saw a man in a red, hooded sweat shirt run away.
Victims' records
Moore received a 30-day suspended jail sentence and one-year probation in June on convictions of driving with a suspended license and criminal trespass. The license charge was filed in November 2000 but not resolved until June, municipal court records show.
He still owes $320 in fines and costs.
In August 2001, felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon and receiving stolen property against Bryant were bound over to a grand jury. Disposition of the case wasn't immediately available.
