Penguins hostToledo tonight
YOUNGSTOWN -- Tonight at 7, the Youngstown State men's basketball team tries to keep a home November winning streak alive against a team it has never beaten.
The Penguins will play host to Toledo at Beeghly Center.
The Penguins (1-1) are coming off a 73-52 victory over Slippery Rock on Tuesday. The win pushed YSU's home November winning streak to eight games dating to 1996.
Overall, YSU has won 14 of its last 15 November home tilts.
Tuesday, the Penguins shot 59.2 percent from the field and were led by four players who had double figures including Doug Underwood and Marlon Williamson who each scored 11. After Slippery Rock scored the first basket of the game, YSU went on a 25-4 and was never threatened again.
Toledo (1-2) visits Youngstown for the first time since December 1999. The Rockets opened the year playing at the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In three games, UT lost to BYU and Virginia Tech while defeating Kansas State.
There have been seven games between the two schools dating to 1942. Last season, the Rockets beat the Penguins 79-65 at Savage Hall in Toledo.
YSU has won its last two home games against Mid-American Conference schools (Western Michigan in 2000 and Kent State in 2001) since losing to the Rockets in 1999.
Another Penguinmakes the NFL
YOUNGSTOWN -- Tim Johnson, who played linebacker for Youngstown State, became the 17th Penguin to appear in a NFL game.
The Oakland Raiders promoted Johnson to the active roster on Nov. 23 after releasing running back Madre Hill.
Johnson has been a member of the Raiders' practice squad since the first week of the season. He recorded a special-teams tackle in the second half as the Raiders topped Arizona 41-20 last Sunday.
The Raiders take on the New York Jets Monday night.
Placekicker Jeff Wilkins, a former YSU standout, leads the St. Louis Rams in scoring this season with 64 points. He has made 12-of-16 field goals and 28 extra points.
Pat Crummey, a former YSU offensive tackle, is a member of the New York Giants practice squad. Crummey, who signed as a free agent, has been on the practice squad the entire season.

Woods, Mickelsonin Skins Game
INDIO, Calif. -- Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson don't play practice rounds together. They never have played with or against each other in exhibitions like the World Cup or the Battle at Bighorn. If they have lunch together, it's usually by accident.
The world's two best golfers will be together all weekend at the Skins Game, the most popular silly season event that suddenly doesn't seem all that silly.
They played together in only one tournament all year, the season-ending Tour Championship. Before that it was the final round of the 2001 Masters, where Woods prevailed for an unprecedented fourth straight major title.
Woods and Mickelson will join Fred Couples and Mark O'Meara as the Skins Game returns to its regular format. Whoever has the best score wins the hole. If there is a tie, the skins carry over until someone wins a hole outright.
The first six holes are worth $25,000 each, the next six holes are worth $50,000, the next five holes are worth $70,000, and the 18th hole is worth $200,000.

IOC delaysouster vote
MEXICO CITY -- Baseball, softball and modern pentathlon are staying in the Olympics, for now at least.
Three months after an Olympic panel proposed dropping the three sports for the 2008 Beijing Games, the IOC decided Friday to put off any vote until after the 2004 Athens Games.
